TVS Motor is developing electric two-wheelers for the Nepalese market and is set to launch its first electric vehicle sometime by March 2020, media reports suggest.  The two-wheeler manufacturer showcased its Creon concept electric scooter at the Delhi Auto Expo, last year in February. While the company is tight-lipped about the electric two-wheeler, reports are rife that it could roll out the production version of the Creon Concept next year.

The TVS Creon Concept featured a host of smart connected bits which were developed jointly by TVS and Intel. The TFT screen on the concept displayed geofencing, navigation and GPS along with speedometer, tachometer, odometer, trip meter, health status and battery charge. The production version is likely to carry over most of the features from the concept such as three customized riding modes, park assist-cloud connectivity, anti-theft features and regenerative from the concept version.

Most of these features are already available with the Ather energy products. Other bits that are likely to be retained in the production-spec model include tubeless tyres, diamond cut alloy wheels, all-LED lights, a USB charger, front telescopic forks, rear offset monoshock and under seat storage.

The electric system powering the Creon concept includes three Lithium-ion batteries and an electric motor with 16.32 PS of power. It takes 5.1 seconds to propel to 60 km/h from rest. The battery can be charged up to 80 per cent in an hour and is claimed to return 80 km of range on a complete charge. Braking power is likely to come from petal-type disc brakes at the front and rear with ABS offered only at the front.
