According to recent reports, Royal Enfield is all set to unveil an all-new motorcycle under its portfolio by the end of April 2020. There has been no official information revealed on the upcoming product though the reports suggest that the brand has codenamed it as J1D. There have been several trademarks registered by the Chennai-based two-wheeler manufacturer which includes the likes of Sherpa, Hunter, Roadster as well as Flying Flea. It is not yet known whether the brand will be offering the J1D with one of the above-mentioned names for its final avatar or will register for an all-new name.

Some reports also suggest that the upcoming motorcycle variant might be the lower-displacement 250cc Royal Enfield Himalayan that will specifically target the younger audience and offer similar adventure touring traits with an affordable price tag when compared to its higher-displacement version.In addition to this, the brand is expected to reveal the much anticipated Royal Enfield Meteor, the successor to the present-gen Thunderbird 350 in the coming days. The motorcycle has been spotted multiple times testing on the Indian roads and features almost identical looks like the Thunderbird cruiser with blacked-out body panels and few other cosmetic changes.

Since the new emission norms will commence from April 1, 2020, Royal Enfield is on a launch spree by rolling out BS6-compliant Classic 350, Himalayan 411, and the Bullet 350 variants which are now available across the dealerships. The brand is also working on introducing a range of lightweight motorcycle variants for the women as well as the youth though there has been no official news received on the same as of yet.

The brand has officially decided to discontinue its 500cc range of motorcycles since they will not be updated according to the mandatory BS6 emission norms due to lesser demand in the Nepalese market. The 500cc portfolio from the brand is only available with the dealerships until the stock lasts.
