Bajaj Auto is expected to launch the new Bajaj Pulsar NS160 ABS in the coming months. India recently received the most stringent vehicle safety norms which have made it mandatory for the manufacturers to equip vehicles with ABS/CBS that means we get the same vehicle in Nepal too. This safety measure is aimed at curbing the lives lost in road accidents and for those not in the know, as a signatory of the UN Brasilia Declaration.
The vehicle safety norms have also impacted the future of those motorcycles which are yet to receive this safety update. And, Bajaj Pulsar NS160 is one of those motorcycles. Bajaj Auto recently updated a number of motorcycles in its product portfolio with ABS/CBS and an ABS-equipped version of the Pulsar NS160 is expected to hit the market soon.
The Bajaj Pulsar NS160 is powered by a 160.3 cc, single-cylinder motor that churns out 15.5 bhp of max power and 14.6 Nm of max torque. The motor is mated to a 5-speed gearbox and the Pulsar 160NS has a kerb weight of 142 Kg. The front of the motorcycle has got conventional telescopic forks and monoshock at the rear. The bike runs on 17 inchers at the front and rear.
Bajaj Pulsar NS160 can get a single-channel ABS unit and a little hike in the price is expected, for reference, the Pulsar NS200 got a hike of Rs. 40,000 when it was updated with a single-channel ABS unit. The Bajaj Pulsar 160NS is currently priced at Rs. 2.60 lakhs and it rivals with the likes of Honda CB Hornet 160R, Apache RTR 160, Yamaha FZ Version 3 and Suzuki Gixer.
