Nepal’s Leading Auto Expo Returns

Kathmandu is gearing up for the NADA Auto Show 2025, Nepal’s premier auto expo. For 17 years this show has been the barometer of Nepal’s automotive trends. It brings together all the major car, motorcycle and EV brands under one roof. In 2024 the 16th edition attracted 82,000+ visitors and over 30 new product debuts. Organizers aim to top that record with a truly futuristic lineup. This year’s theme “Go For More” underscores a focus on emerging mobility – from electric/hybrid cars to cutting-edge tech. Expect Kathmandu’s biggest auto show to highlight both industry legacy and tomorrow’s technology.

NADA 2025 is more than a trade fair; it’s Nepal’s auto industry weekend. Dealers, manufacturers and startup innovators will showcase new vehicles, charging infrastructure, finance & insurance services, auto parts, and more. The event is open to enthusiasts and consumers alike, offering test drives, product launches, seminars, and business networking. In short, this Kathmandu auto show is the must-see mobility event of 2025 in Nepal.

Grand Inauguration & Flying Taxi Reveal

The show kicks off on August 19 with a high-profile opening ceremony. Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli himself will raise the curtain. In a historic moment, he will unveil Nepal’s first Deepal eVTOL flying taxi, developed by Changan Auto in partnership with Nepal’s MAW Vriddhi. This all-electric vertical take-off vehicle is Nepal’s answer to flying taxis in Nepal, designed for short-range urban flights over congested cities.

Industry leaders note this as a milestone. “NADA Auto Show has always presented breakthrough technology. This year, the Prime Minister unveiling the first flying taxi is truly historic,” said Vivek Sikaria, MD of MAW Vriddhi. Alongside the eVTOL, the inauguration highlights include life-sized humanoid robots greeting guests in real time and a parade of new electric vehicles. According to news reports, Deepal’s new S05 EV (with ~470km range) and luxury Avatr EVs (S07, E07, Avatr 11) will also debut. In short, the opening day sets an electrifying tone for the future of mobility in Nepal.

Theme & Future Mobility Showcase

This year’s theme is “Go For More,” reflecting an all-encompassing approach. Organizers emphasize that traditional combustion-engine cars sit side-by-side with the latest EVs and hybrid models. Beyond the vehicles themselves, NADA 2025 is dubbed a Future Mobility Expo. Attendees will see emerging technologies on display: humanoid and quadruped robots performing demos, virtual-reality driving simulators, smart charging stations, and drone taxi concepts. The highlight is clearly advanced mobility. For example, Nepal’s first eVTOL flying taxi will be a show centerpiece. This reflects Nepal’s terrain-driven interest in air mobility solutions.

The expo features a dedicated EV Pavilion, showcasing electric cars, motorcycles and scooters from local and global brands. Workshops and seminars will run throughout the week, covering topics like EV adoption, battery tech, smart city transportation, and sustainable mobility solutions. In essence, NADA Auto Show 2025 is a live demonstration of the future of transport – from EV launches in Nepal and alternate-energy vehicles to the next generation of connected cars.

Exhibitors and Exhibition Scale

NADA Auto Show 2025 is massive in scale. The entire Bhrikutimandap Exhibition Center (over 300,000 square feet) is devoted to the show. The indoor halls alone offer about 162,500 square feet of exhibit space. Organizers say there will be 70+ exhibitors across 120+ stalls. This includes 19 passenger-car brands, 14 light commercial vehicle brands, 4 motorcycle/scooter brands, and dozens of aftermarket companies (lubricants, tires, batteries, etc.). Financial service firms (auto financing, insurance) and tech companies (EV charging networks, software) round out the lineup.

Domestic and international players are present. You’ll see Nepal’s top dealerships (e.g. MAW Vriddhi, CG, etc.) alongside foreign automakers (e.g. Changan/Deepal, BYD, Suzuki, Geely, Xpeng, and more). Local startups and government booths will also discuss policy and infrastructure. In short, NADA 2025 is a one-stop showcase of Nepal’s entire automotive ecosystem, scaled up far beyond any Kathmandu auto show that’s come before.

Key Highlights & Themed Pavilions

NADA 2025 is organized into themed zones to engage different interests:

  • Made-in-Nepal Pavilion: Highlights Nepal’s own automotive ventures and locally assembled parts and vehicles. This zone will spotlight homegrown brands and assembly plants.

  • Business & Tech Pavilion: Dedicated to global mobility trends and investment opportunities. Here you can learn about smart mobility projects, EV policy, and emerging ventures.

  • EV & Mobility Pavilion: A special section for electric vehicles, charging tech and urban mobility solutions. Expect EV charging demos, battery tech exhibits, and info on Nepal’s green initiatives.

  • Workshops & Seminar Hall: A stage for expert talks and hands-on sessions on EV adoption, autonomous driving, and sustainable transport.

  • Vintage Motor Show: An indoor gallery of classic and vintage cars celebrating auto heritage. (A nostalgic bonus for car buffs in between the modern tech.)

  • Interactive Demo Zone: Central areas for live demos – featuring Deepal’s eVTOL static display and UNITREE robots in action.

  • Two-Wheeler Pavilion: All the new motorcycle and scooter models, including BS6 standard and electric bikes.

In addition to themed pavilions, the expo floor will have hundreds of branded booths. For instance, MAW Vriddhi’s area (Stalls A1/A2) will feature its entire Deepal/Avatr EV lineup, while other stalls focus on SUVs, pickups, or commercial vehicles. The whole experience is immersive: test-drives, virtual simulations, and on-floor chargers for EV demos.

New Vehicle and Technology Debuts

At least dozens of new models will make their Nepal debut at NADA 2025. Key launches and previews include:

  • Deepal EVTOL Flying Taxi: Nepal’s first electric vertical take-off vehicle. This fully autonomous urban air taxi (1–2 seats, ~50 km range) will be on public display for the first time in Kathmandu.

  • Suzuki eVitara (EV SUV): Suzuki’s first all-electric SUV for Nepal. It’s a mid-size crossover with up to 500+ km range, showcased ahead of its public launch.

  • BYD Atto 2: The latest generation electric MPV from BYD. This new model (similar to the older Atto 3) will be exhibited, representing one of the major EV launches in Nepal this year.

  • Deepal S05 (Electric SUV): The newly launched Deepal compact SUV with 470 km range. It features an ultra-low drag design (0.258 Cd) and high-tech cabin (AR HUD, ADAS 2.0).

  • Nammi 06 (Electric SUV): Dongfeng’s Nammi brand presents its Nammi 06 EV, a new mid-size crossover (variants E1, E2, E2 Plus) just imported to Nepal. It offers 45–52 kWh battery options and modern tech.

  • Hero Xpulse 210 (Motorcycle): An all-new 210cc adventure bike from Hero MotoCorp, teased for Nepal at NADA. It delivers ~25bhp and is designed for both city and off-road riding.

  • Hero Xoom 160 (Maxi-Scooter): A new 160cc maxi-scooter to be launched by Hero (resembling a bigger version of the popular Pleasure scooter).

  • Geely Galaxy E5 (Sedan EV): Geely’s latest electric sedan from China, marking another Chinese EV entry at the expo.

  • Xpeng X9 (SUV EV): The full-size electric SUV from Xpeng, with 6–7 seats and advanced tech, will be on display.

  • UNITREE Robots: The Chinese robotics firm UNITREE will demo both its G1 humanoid and G01 quadruped robots, performing movements and interacting with visitors.

  • Tata Safari (CNG): Tata Motors is unveiling a new version of the Safari SUV with CNG capability, highlighting alternative fuel options.

(Plus many more concept cars and test-vehicles – from exotic amphibious off-roaders to future EV prototypes. The Deepal Flying Taxi is the marquee “main showstopper” for air mobility, but enthusiasts can pore over tables full of tomorrow’s tech.)
