Expected to arrive in Nepal through local EV importers
Kinetic, the name once synonymous with scooters in South Asia, is back in action. The all-new Kinetic DX Electric Scooter blends the beloved ‘90s design with modern electric power and smart features. For Nepali EV enthusiasts, this is big — a familiar name, now electrified and future-ready.
The DX isn’t just a name revival. It’s a full-blown premium electric scooter, designed in Italy by Torino Design, built for today’s daily commutes, and made to last.
While there's no official confirmation yet, EV importers in Nepal are known for quickly bringing high-demand Indian models. With Bajaj Chetak, TVS iQube, and Ather 450X already in demand, the Kinetic DX could be next. It’s affordable, it’s nostalgic, and it’s practical — three things the Nepali market responds to.
There are two variants:
DX – Priced at ₹1,11,499 (india)
DX+ – ₹1,17,499 (india)
Expect local dealers in Nepal to price it between NRs 3.5 to 4.5 lakh, once duties and taxes are applied.
Kinetic has gone with a BLDC hub-mounted motor and LFP battery technology, known for thermal safety and long life.
Variant | Battery | Range | Top Speed |
---|---|---|---|
DX | 2.5 kWh | 102 km | 80 km/h |
DX+ | 2.6 kWh | 116 km | 90 km/h |
Charging Times:
50% in 2 hours
80% in 3 hours
Full charge in 4 hours
For urban rides around Kathmandu or Pokhara, this range is more than enough for a couple of days without a recharge.
Kinetic DX revives the old-school scooter silhouette with:
Horizontal LED headlamp
Illuminated Kinetic logo on the windscreen
Solid metal body
Five color options: White, Black, Red, Blue, and Silver
12-inch alloy wheels for better grip and stability
Ground clearance: 165mm – perfect for Nepali road conditions
The DX+ variant stands out with its connected features:
8-inch LCD display with Bluetooth pairing
Cruise control, reverse mode, hill-hold assist, regen braking
Three riding modes: Range, Power, Turbo
Voice Assistant (My Kiney Companion)
Find My Kinetic, Geo-fencing, Anti-theft alert
Password-protected start, Guide-Me-Home lighting, Retractable footpegs
Most of these premium features are exclusive to the DX+, which is the variant likely to appeal to urban Nepali commuters seeking more tech.
What truly sets the DX apart?
37 litres underseat storage – large enough to store a full-face and a half-face helmet
Retractable on-board charging cable
Combi-brake system: Disc front + Drum rear
Sturdy telescopic suspension & twin rear shocks
This scooter’s built for everyday practicality – shopping runs, office commutes, or a weekend dash up to Nagarkot.
With India deliveries starting in September 2025, it’s reasonable to expect the Kinetic DX to land in Nepal by Q4 2025 or early 2026, assuming local distributors get access. Keep an eye on Sipradi, Dugar, or Himalayan Motorrad — some of the key EV players in Nepal.
Kinetic’s comeback with the DX is more than just a nostalgic gesture — it’s practical, reliable, and designed to thrive in modern South Asian cities. If you're looking for an electric scooter that offers solid performance, rich features, and a heritage badge — Kinetic DX should be on your radar.
