Hero Xoom 160 bookings now open in India
Launch-ready with August-end deliveries
Powered by a 156cc liquid-cooled engine
Adventure-ready design with dual-purpose tubeless tyres
Loaded with premium tech features including keyless ignition and digital display
Nepal launch currently unlikely, but rising demand could change that
Hero MotoCorp has officially opened bookings for its all-new Hero Xoom 160 — a bold, adventure-ready maxi-scooter now available in the Indian market. With deliveries slated to begin by the end of August, this move marks Hero's aggressive foray into the premium adventure scooter segment.
The Xoom 160 made its first public appearance at EICMA Auto Show, then grabbed attention again during the Hero World 2024 event. From aggressive styling to a robust engine and high-end features, the scooter is aimed at riders who crave both performance and rugged aesthetics.
At the heart of the Hero Xoom 160 lies a 156cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine. This powertrain is tuned for a balance of punch and efficiency, producing:
14.6 bhp @ 8000 RPM
14 Nm torque @ 6500 RPM
This setup puts it well ahead of conventional scooters in the commuter category and makes it suitable for highway cruising, light touring, and occasional off-road detours.
Unlike typical urban scooters, the Xoom 160 is engineered with an adventure-ready frame and hardware. It tips the scales at 141 kg, making it robust yet nimble enough for maneuverability.
Telescopic Front Forks
Twin Shock Absorbers at Rear
14-inch Alloy Wheels
Dual-Purpose Tubeless Tyres – ready for both city streets and gravel paths
With ground clearance and suspension geometry optimized for mixed-use riding, the Xoom 160 is designed to go places your average scooter wouldn’t dare.
Hero isn’t holding back on the features. The Xoom 160 integrates premium technology to match its rugged design.
Keyless Ignition – Start and stop without a key
Fully Digital Instrument Cluster – All ride metrics in one sleek display
Remote Seat Opening System – Access the under-seat storage with a click
Split LED Headlamps – Aggressive design with improved night visibility
i3S (Idle Start-Stop System) – Hero’s signature fuel-saving tech
Every detail speaks of Hero’s intent to make the Xoom 160 stand out in a crowded market.
In Nepal, Hero MotoCorp operates under CG Motors. The current scooter lineup includes the entry-level Hero Xoom 110, which has already gained popularity for its design and affordability.
Hero has also hinted at bringing the Xoom 125 to Nepal in the near future. However, as of now, there are no official plans to launch the Xoom 160 in the Nepalese market.
That said, demand often drives supply. With Nepal’s rising interest in adventure-capable two-wheelers, a growing number of enthusiasts could prompt Hero and CG Motors to reevaluate their decision in the near future.
The Hero Xoom 160 steps into a market segment that is heating up fast. Competing against the likes of:
Aprilia SR 160
TVS Ntorq 125 Race XP
Yamaha Aerox 155
...the Xoom 160 strikes a unique balance between adventure styling and practical usability, a combo still rare in this segment.
Currently, there's no confirmed plan to introduce the Xoom 160 in Nepal. However, this may not be the case for long.
Rising demand for premium scooters
Popularity of adventure-styled two-wheelers
CG Motors’ expanding local presence
Competitive pricing and fuel-efficient engines attracting a new breed of riders
If Hero sees the Xoom 160 resonating well in Indian tier-2 and tier-3 cities, there’s a strong chance they’ll test the waters in Nepal next.
The Hero Xoom 160 isn’t just another addition to the scooter market — it’s a signal that Hero is ready to take risks, experiment with global styling, and meet the demands of modern riders.
India gets it first. Nepal might be next. And when that happens, we expect the Xoom 160 to redefine what adventure scooters mean in our market.
