Hero MotoCorp is most well known for its commuter motorcycles, but it has also been a scooter manufacturer since 2005, when it launched the Pleasure. This was a unique product as far as brand positioning was concerned; it aimed itself squarely at the woman buyer, and offered a differently branded version for males. This is something that everyone began following later, including market leader Activa. The Pleasure was built under the Hero Honda JV, and after the split Hero MotoCorp needed to have its own products, and this has given rise to the current Pleasure and two completely new scooters, the Maestro Edge and Duet.
