The renowned Chinese automaker, GAC Motors, has launched its latest marvel, the Aion Y Electric SUV in Nepal. CG Motors, the authorised distributor of GAC Aion vehicles in Nepal, has officially announced the introduction of its latest electric vehicle (EV) in the Nepalese market. GAC Motors is a prominent player in the Chinese electric vehicle (EV) market, recognised for its stylish aesthetics, generous interior space, and cutting-edge EV innovations. This launch marks a significant stride towards sustainable mobility in the nation, promising an exhilarating blend of innovation, performance, and eco-consciousness.

GAC Aion is equipped with advanced electric motors and state-of-the-art battery technology. It is powered by a 100kW electric motor that generates a max power of 134PS and a max torque of 225Nm. Additionally, it is powered by a 61.5 kWh LiFePo battery, utilizing magazine battery technology. It boasts an impressive range of approximately 510 kilometres according to the NEDC standard, and when it comes to charging, the Aion Y requires approximately 8 to 10 hours to fully recharge. 

The GAC Aion Y is constructed using the advanced GEP 2.0 Pure Electric Platform, which boasts a 50:50 Weight Distribution Golden Ratio. This ratio ensures a balanced weight distribution, resulting in a lower centre of gravity and enhanced stability. By achieving this optimal balance, the vehicle experiences minimal body roll and effectively dampens vibrations, all while maintaining an exceptional drive quality with no compromises. The suspension responsibilities are managed by McPherson Independent and Torsion-beam systems.

The GAC Aion Y Electric SUV captivates with its modern aesthetic and futuristic appeal. It comes equipped with state-of-the-art features including LED headlights featuring distinctive angle wing DRLs, through-type taillights, and a skyline LED taillamp. It also gets a modern 10.25-inch LCD instrument cluster and a spacious 14.6-inch touch infotainment system with 32-color ambient lighting. It also boasts an ultra-large panoramic sunroof. It is also accentuated by its 17-inch aluminium alloy wheels and contrasting side skirts, adding to its unique charm.

The GAC Aion Y Electric SUV is equipped with an extensive array of safety features. In terms of its feature set, the Aion SUV boasts a multitude of safety enhancements, including multiple airbags, ABS + EBD + VSC systems, Hill Control, and a 360-degree HD panoramic camera. Furthermore, it is equipped with advanced driver assistance technologies such as adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, and automatic emergency braking, among numerous others. It is also equipped with an intelligent battery management system to mitigate the risk of thermal runaway. 

The GAC Aion Y Electric SUV boasts dimensions that combine spaciousness with agility. It boasts a dimension of 4535 mm in length, 1870 mm in width, and 1650 mm in height, with a wheelbase spanning 2750 mm. It maintains a ground clearance of 183mm and weighs 1735 kg when empty. Its generous boot space can accommodate 405 litres of cargo, expandable to 1200 litres through a convenient 60/40 split arrangement. The front tyre dimensions are 215/55 R17 with disc brakes, and similarly, the rear tyre dimensions are also 215/55 R17 with disc brakes.

The GAC Aion Y price in Nepal is NRs. 54.99 Lakhs. Available in a single variant, the GAC Aion Y Electric SUV offers an array of seven captivating colour choices. These include Yellow, Green, White, Black, Dark Silver, Dark Grey, and Light Grey. It comes in three riding modes: Eco, Normal, and Sport.
