BYD, a pioneering force in the global automotive industry,  has officially launched its new electric marvel, the BYD Dolphin in Nepal. Cimex, the authorized distributor of BYD vehicles in Nepal, has launched the new electric vehicle Dolphin only in a single variant in the Nepalese market. The BYD Dolphin, also known as the e2, is a subcompact electric car that embodies the company's dedication to sustainability, innovation, and affordability. It is the latest offering by BYD in the electric vehicle market, and it has garnered considerable attention worldwide for its powerful performance, innovative features, sleek design, and environmental friendliness. One standout feature of the BYD Dolphin EV is its strong dedication to environmental sustainability.

The BYD Dolphin boasts an impressive electric range, thanks to its advanced battery technology. It is powered by a 44.9 kWh battery pack and a front-wheel-drive electric motor that generates a max power of 70 kW and 180 Nm of torque. The BYD Dolphin marks the debut of BYD's Ocean series with its "Ocean Aesthetics" design. It's powered by the advanced BYD e-Platform 3.0 and features the innovative Blade Battery technology, setting new safety standards and providing an impressive single-charge range. Additionally, it boasts an impressive range of 340 kilometres on a single charging cycle. The BYD Dolphin can charge using AC (Type 2) at a maximum rate of 7.4 kW and offers DC fast charging (CCS) with a peak rate of 60 kW. The Dolphin can recharge its batteries to 80% in just 30 minutes.

The inside of the vehicle has been meticulously crafted, featuring high-quality materials and cutting-edge technology. Likewise, the subcompact electric vehicle also includes features like heated front seats, a four-way electronically adjustable passenger seat, a six-way electronically adjustable driver's seat, and a rear centre armrest with a built-in cup holder.

BYD has always been committed to safety, and the Dolphin is no exception.  It comes equipped with an array of advanced safety features, including six airbags, a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), ABS with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), an Electronic Parking Brake (EPB), Electronic Stability Control (ESC), a Traction Control System (TCS), a 360-degree camera, and a suite of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). These ADAS features encompass Adaptive Cruise Control, an Automatic Emergency Braking System, Rear Collision Warning, Blind Spot Detection, and Rear Cross Traffic Alert, among a host of other safety enhancements.

It features a length of 4290mm, a width of 1770mm, and a height of 1570mm, with a substantial wheelbase spanning 2770mm. Additionally, it offers a comfortable 175mm ground clearance and exhibits a curb weight ranging from 1405 to 1500kg. Furthermore, it provides ample storage space with a 345-litre trunk capacity that can be expanded to an impressive 1310-litre. It operates with 16-inch wheel sizes. The Dolphin achieves a speed of 0 to 100 kilometres per hour in just 10.9 seconds.

The BYD Dolphin price in Nepal is NRs. 39.80 lakhs and it will be available only in a single variant. It comes equipped with 4 driving modes and 2 regen levels. With its impressive range, rapid charging capabilities, stylish design, and affordability, it has the potential to revolutionise the way we think about electric vehicles in the Nepalese market.
