Ather 450X Electric Scooter Unveiled in Nepal: Price Officially Revealed

Ather Energy has officially unveiled its highly-anticipated electric scooter the Ather 450X in the Nepalese market. Vaidya Energy, the authorized distributor of Ather scooters in Nepal, has announced the official debut of the Ather 450X electric scooter in Nepal. The unveiling of the Ather 450X electric scooter is a testament to their commitment to providing smart, efficient, and eco-friendly solutions for urban commuting. It combines cutting-edge technology with a green conscience offering an eco-friendly, efficient, and thrilling riding experience. It's not just a scooter; it's a movement towards a cleaner, more sustainable future.


The Ather 450X is no slouch when it comes to performance. It is powered by a 6.4 kW permanent magnet synchronous motor that generates a max power of 6.4 kW and a max torque of 26 Nm. It comes with a choice of two lithium-ion battery configurations: 2.9kWh and 3.7kWh. The 2.9 kWh lithium-ion battery can charge from 0% to 100% in approximately 8 hours and 36 minutes. It offers a certified range of 111 km. The 3.7kWh Lithium-Ion battery can recharge from 0% to 100% in approximately 5 hours and 45 minutes. It boasts a certified range of 150 kilometres. With a top speed of 90 km/h, the Ather 450X accelerates from 0 to 40 km/h in a mere 3.3 seconds.


Ather Energy has incorporated a range of intelligent features into the 450X. It comes with an LED Headlamp with LED DRLs and a single-strip LED tail light with integrated indicators. The side indicators are seamlessly built into the handlebars for a sleek and clever design. It comes equipped with a 7-inch touchscreen display that provides a wealth of information. You can track your ride statistics, monitor battery status, and even locate charging stations, all from the comfort of your scooter. The Ather 450X can be connected to your smartphone, allowing you to track your scooter's location, remotely control functions, and receive important notifications. 


The scooter features a high-strength steel frame and an IP67-rated battery pack, ensuring both the rider's safety and the scooter's durability. Combined with a twin-disc brake setup, the Ather 450X offers impressive stopping power. The suspension duties are handled by telescopic forks and symmetrically mounted progressive monoshock. Ather complements the 450X with Pro Packs, featuring an array of enhancements. These packs encompass ride modes, auto hold, true range displays, interactive user interface, coasting regen, Ather's connectivity features, and the convenience of over-the-air (OTA) updates. 


In terms of its dimensions, the Ather 450X boasts a length of 1891 mm, a width of 739 mm, and a height of 1114 mm, with a wheelbase measuring 1296 mm. The ground clearance of the Ather 450X is a comfortable 170mm, and it has a kerb weight of 111.6 kg. Notably, it offers a generous 22-litre storage space beneath the seat. Additional features of the Ather 450X encompass side stand sensors, automatic indicator deactivation, an emergency stop signal (ESS) system, and a park assist function. The 450X offers multiple riding modes, including Eco, Ride, and Sport. 


The 450X will come with two battery options. The 2.9 kWh battery version is priced at NRs 3.85 Lakh, while the 3.7 kWh battery version is available for NRs 4.20 Lakh. It is available in an array of stylish colour options, including Space Grey, Still White, Salt Green, True Red, Cosmic Black, and Lunar Grey colours. The 450X competes with the Zeeho AE8 and TVS iQube S in the Nepalese market. Ather Nepal provides a comprehensive warranty for their electric scooter components in Nepal, with the battery covered for 5 years or 60,000 kilometres, the scooter itself for 3 years or 30,000 kilometres, and the Ather Portable charger for 3 years.


The company has recently launched its Ather Space Experience Center in Naxal, Kathmandu. Additionally, Vaidya Energy is preparing to open its second Ather Experience Center in Jhamsikhel, Lalitpur within the next 2-3 weeks. Vaidya Energy's plans extend beyond introducing Ather scooters; they have ambitious goals to expand their presence throughout Nepal. The company has already set up an Ather Grid fast charging station at the Ather Space in Kathmandu. Vaidya Energy intends to deploy nine more Ather Grids at various locations in Kathmandu by January 2024.
