As Toyota's best-selling compact SUV, the sixth-generation RAV4 is poised to set new standards in performance, efficiency, and versatility.
The 2026 RAV4 HEV utilizes Toyota's fifth-generation hybrid system, delivering improved performance and efficiency. The system pairs a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine with electric motors, achieving a combined output of 236 horsepower in AWD configurations and 226 horsepower in FWD models. Notably, this marks the first time FWD is available in RAV4 Hybrid models.
The RAV4 PHEV introduces a new plug-in hybrid system, combining a 2.5-liter engine with two electric motors and a high-capacity battery. This setup delivers a robust 320 horsepower and an estimated all-electric driving range of 50 miles, a 20% improvement over the previous generation. DC fast charging capabilities are available on XSE and Woodland grades, enabling a 10% to 80% charge in approximately 30 minutes.
The Core design encompasses the LE, XLE, and Limited grades, featuring a sleek, paint-matched grille and Toyota's signature hammerhead front end. Wheel options range from 17 to 20 inches, depending on the grade.
Exclusive to the Woodland grade, the Rugged design includes a raised hammerhead front end, black split upper and lower grille with integrated LED lighting, and standard all-terrain tires. The model also features raised roof rails with crossbars and a rear activity mount for enhanced versatility.
The Sport design is highlighted by the introduction of the GR SPORT grade, developed in collaboration with Toyota GAZOO Racing. This model boasts GR-tuned suspension and power steering, enhanced body rigidity, and unique 20-inch wheels with increased offset. The GR SPORT is exclusively available with a PHEV powertrain. The 2026 RAV4 offers increased towing capacity on specific AWD grades, with the HEV XLE, Woodland, SE, XSE, Limited, and PHEV SE, XSE, and Woodland grades capable of towing up to 3,500 pounds. FWD models and the LE AWD grade have a towing capacity of 1,750 pounds.
