Royal Enfield Himalayan 650 is a dream motorbike for those who love tackling odd terrains. As per the latest details available, the much-anticipated Royal Enfield Himalayan 650 in Nepal is all set to make its debut around mid-2022. The Himalayan 650 was expected to launch in the year 2020 but as the brand was busy testing BS6-compliant models of the Classic series, Thunderbird series, and the 650cc twins and finally we have a concrete update on the upcoming motorcycle. Royal Enfield’s 650cc adventure motorcycle is being developed at the brand’s UK technology center.

The Himalayan 650 would be sharing the engine with the Interceptor 650 and the Continental GT 650. The bike is likely to come with the 648cc, air-cooled, parallel-twin SOHC engine that generates 47bhp  and 52Nm of torque. However, 650 may also come with a different set of output figures. The engine comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox with a slip assist clutch. The Himalayan 650 will be equipped with disc brakes on both ends including dual-channel ABS as standard. The Adventure is likely to be suspended by a conventional telescopic fork and a preload-adjustable linked rear shock.

In terms of features, the Himalayan 650 is likely to get a TFT screen with Bluetooth connectivity. It is also expected to feature traction control and ride modes as standard. It is also likely to offer a comfortable riding stance, a large fuel tank for good range mounts for luggage, and a long-travel suspension for better ride quality. The Himalayan 650 will come with a 19-inch front wheel instead of a 21-inch unit. The bike will offer a decent ground clearance slightly higher than the 411cc Himalayan.

According to the latest report, the Himalayan 650 is indeed in the works but will only make its debut by mid-2022. It could be offered in two variants including alloy wheels and wire-spokes. Royal Enfield is looking to introduce the Himalayan 650 in Nepal with a price tag of around NRs 13 to 15 lakhs. Royal Enfield is also working on a new motorcycle like Meteor 650, Classic 650, and Cruiser 650.
