Japanese two-wheeler maker, Honda is working on a wide range of new motorcycles for the Nepalese market. Honda has recently filed a design patent for the CRF190L, leading to speculation that a new adventure bike will rival the Hero XPulse 200 4V in Nepal. After the CBR150R and NT1100, Honda Motors has confirmed the CRF190L has been patented. Honda already has two models in its 184 cc platform including the Honda Hornet 2.0 and its adventure-style sibling, the Honda CB200X.

This entry-level adventure motorcycle will share an engine similar to the Hornet 2.0 and the CB 200X. The Honda CRF190L is also powered by a 184 cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine but has a slightly different state of tune which is right now available in China for sale and the engine has been tuned to make 15.6 bhp and 14.5 Nm. Honda will use the same 5-speed constant-mesh gearbox for the upcoming CRF190L. With 830 mm seat height, 240 mm of ground clearance and 145 kg kerb weight should make the CRF190L a hoot to ride off-road.

CRF190L draws a major design from CRF1100L Africa Twin. It gets a similar side fairing, a flat headlamp cowl with a tall visor, a rectangular double-stacked headlamp, and circular rearview mirrors. The CRF190L also comes with a boomerang-shaped side fairing and tank extensions. The bike also features a large single-piece seat, a pillion grab rail integrated with a luggage rack, mid-set footpegs, an upright handlebar, and a commanding seating position which offer a comfortable riding posture for off-road adventures.

The CRF190L also features conventional telescopic forks at the front and has mono-shock suspension at the rear. The bike comes with a 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wire-spoke wheel. It is also equipped with disc brakes at both ends with knobby dual-purpose tires. The Africa Twin is globally famous for its reliability as well as off-road capabilities, Honda has tried to incarnate a similar design outline in the CRF190L which will be perfect for the daily commutes and weekend exploration in Nepal.

According to the latest source, there are no plans in the immediate future to launch the Honda CRF190L in Nepal. However, the new niche of entry-level adventure motorcycles has potential which has been already proven by the Hero Xpulse 200 in Nepal. Once launched in Nepal, the CRF190L will compete with the Hero XPulse 200. While the adventure segment is currently booming in Nepal, there are only a few motorcycle models that cater to the demand.
